The Board of Deacons' name comes from the Greek word "diakonos," which means servant. Deacons' role is to support the Ministers and the spiritual interests and health of the Church and the community. They are to minister to those in need, the poor, the sick, the sorrowing, the indifferent, and the stranger that liberates and redeems to magnify God.
